နောက်ဆုံးကုန်းတွင်းပိုင်း
2019 ခုနှစ်တွင် 1955 ၏ ”ပထမကုန်းတွင်းပိုင်း” အောက်စ်ဖို့နှင့် ကင်းဘရစ် Land Rover လေ့လာရေးခရီးကို Tim Slessor (မူရင်းယာဉ်မောင်းမှတစ်ဦး) နှင့် အဲလက်စ် ဘီကိုဘီ အားဖြင့် မူရင်းမော်တော်ယာဉ် တစ်စီးမောင်းနှင်ခြင်းဖြင့် ပြန်လည်ဖွင့်လှစ်ခဲ့သည်။ ‘Oxford’ ဟုအမည်ပေးထားသည့် ၁၉၅၅ ပြပွဲမှ Land Rover သည် ဝေးလံခေါင်ဖျားသော တောင်အတ္တလန္တိတ် ကျွန်းစိန့်ဟယ်လီနာတွင် ဖျက်ချပြီး သံချေးတက်နေသည်ဟု တွေ့ရှိရသည်။ ၎င်းအား Adam Bennett မှပြန်လည် ပြုပြင်ခဲ့ပြီး ၂၀၁၁ ပြပွဲအတွက် အဲလက်စ်နှင့် Tim တို့အား လက်ဆောင် ပေးခဲ့သည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှတဆင့် စင်ကာပူ နှင့် ယူကေသို့ ကီလိုမီတာ ၁၉၀၀၀ ခရီးစဉ် ကို အဲလက်စ်နှင့် Tim တို့ ၁၁၁ ရက်ကြာမြင့်ခဲ့သည်။ ပဲခူးကလပ်၌ ဧည့်ခံပွဲကို Mark Tippetts မှစီစဉ်ခဲ့သည်။ ဒီပြပွဲက ပရဟိတလုပ်ငန်းအတော်များများအတွက် ငွေအမြောက်အများကို ရရှိစေခဲ့တယ်။
Last Overland
In 2019 the ‘First Overland’ Oxford & Cambridge Land Rover expedition of 1955 was recreated by Tim Slessor (one of its original drivers) and Alex Bescoby, driving one of the original vehicles. Dubbed ‘Oxford’, the Land Rover from the 1955 exhibition had been found dismantled and rusting on the remote South Atlantic island of Saint Helena. It was refurbished by Adam Bennett and gifted to Alex and Tim for the 2019 exhibition. The 19,000 kilometre trip from Singapore to the UK, via Myanmar, took Alex and Tim 111 days. A reception at the Pegu Club was organised by Mark Tippetts. The exhibition raised a large amount of money for a number of charities.
